Welcome to another issue of Math Tips Daily - the free eZine to offer tips and tricks for students to survive and excel in math.
Today's topic is the VANG approach to understand and solve math problems.
First of all, what is VANG? VANG stands for Visual, Analytical, Numerical and Graphical.
Mathematics is a branch of study that has many formulas and concepts. These have to be fully comprehended before problem solving can be attempted. The VANG approach is an effective in learning mathematics because it uses all aspects of learning in one method.
1. V - Visual
The visual part of the VANG approach is applied when solving problems by drawing the scenario of the word problem and identifying what is being asked from the problem.
2. A - Analytical
The analytical part of the learning approach is where the actual computation of the quantity being sought is performed. This is the most important learning mode out of the VANG approach because this is where proper definitions and theorems are applied to calculate values for a particular problem.
3. N - Numerical
The numerical part of the VANG approach is where numbers are used for a particular concept or problem and the awareness of what it is needed to learn is encountered.
4. G - Graphical
The graphical part of the VANG approach is where graphs are used to show concepts so they can be linked to other mathematical ideas.
There you have the VANG.
That should do it for today.
Keep it up with your study. "See" you tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Seize the Day!
